About Anbu Gynaecare

Period care that's kind to you and the planet

Our Story

Anbu Gynaecare was founded in 2024 in Enugu, Nigeria, by four medical students who saw a pressing need: millions of women lacked access to safe, affordable, and environmentally friendly menstrual products.

The name "Anbu" means "love" in Tamil, reflecting our commitment to caring for women, communities, and our planet. We've started with a simple mission: create 100% biodegradable sanitary pads that decompose naturally without harming the environment and are much more affordable.

Mission & Vision

Our Mission

To provide accessible, affordable, and eco-friendly menstrual care while empowering women through education, technology, and community support. We're committed to eliminating period poverty and environmental waste across Nigeria.

Our Vision

A Nigeria where every woman has access to safe menstrual products, accurate health information, and a supportive community. Where periods are sustainable, stigma-free, and celebrated as a natural part of life.

Our Core Values

  • Sustainability First — every decision prioritizes environmental impact.
  • Women-Centered Care — comfort, dignity, and health come first.
  • Community Impact — fair wages, jobs, and product donations to underserved communities.
  • Education & Empowerment — accurate, accessible menstrual health education to break stigma.

How We Make Our Pads

  1. Sustainable Farming 🌾 — partnering with local farmers to grow plant fibers using organic methods.
  2. Natural Processing 🏭 — plant fibers are processed with solar power and recycled water to minimize impact.
  3. Quality Testing 🔬 — every batch is tested for absorbency, comfort, and safety to meet international standards.
  4. Eco-Packaging 📦 — packed in recycled cardboard with soy inks; packaging decomposes within 60 days.
  5. Carbon-Neutral Delivery 🚚 — we offset 100% of delivery emissions through reforestation partnerships.
